Orange Clown (Armadillidium klugii) Isopods
Armadillidium klugii “Orange Clown,” often referred to as the Orange Clown Isopod, is a colorful variety originating from coastal areas along the Adriatic Sea, especially in Montenegro. It’s well known for its bold orange body paired with contrasting black spots, a pattern thought to imitate the look of the venomous Mediterranean Black Widow spider as a form of protection. Because of their eye-catching appearance and lively behavior, they’re a favorite among isopod keepers and collectors.
Providing at least six inches of substrate allows them to exhibit natural behaviors and supports successful molts and reproduction.
