Magic Potion Isopods (Armadillidium vulgare)
The American Magic Potion Isopod is a striking variety known for both its distinctive look and interesting behavior. This morph of Armadillidium vulgare features a creamy white shell decorated with bright yellow and black speckles, giving it a “magic potion” appearance. Compared to the Japanese line, the American variety tends to be slightly larger with bolder, more frequent spotting. They’re also quite resilient and easy to care for, making them a great option for beginners as well as experienced bioactive keepers.
Providing at least six inches of substrate allows them to exhibit natural behaviors and supports successful molts and reproduction.
