Magnolia leaves are one of the best leaf litters available for isopods. Magnolia leaves are rich in vitamins and nutrients such as nitrogen, calcium, and magnesium, which are essential for plant growth and isopod health. They also contain compounds such as magnolol and honokiol, which have antibacterial properties. These compounds can help prevent the growth of harmful bacteria in the bioactive enclosure. These leaves are also excellent at retaining moisture, which is essential for the health and well-being of the isopods. The leaves water helps maintain humidity levels in the enclosure and prevent dehydration in the isopods.
These leaves are locally collected from our own trees here in South Louisiana. We collect, crush, and vaccuum seal them by hand. Our vaccuum sealing process locks in essential nutrients while eliminating any harmful pathogens and hitch-hikers.
